BETHANYRESTAURANTS.COM REVIEW
We like this restaurant but have been trying to figure out its personality for over two years now. It has American food with a few out of the mainstream flings. Each visit for us has been good, both in terms of food and service. It is easier to get into in the summer compared with some other Bethany restaurants. We often dine on the bar side which is also a good alternative when the Cottage Cafe has a long wait. The bar side also sometimes has live music on the weekends. Located in the Sea Colony shopping center on Rt. 1.

Great restaurant. Crab dip and crabcakes were the best I've ever had. Service was fast and friendly. Mojitos are to die for. This place goes on our Favorites list, at the top.
This place would be better situated in Ocean City. Or the Jersey Shore for that matter. Slow service and bland food make this place undesirable.
Wow, what a bad dining experience. I can not think of anything nice to say about the Chalkboard Tavern, so it best I say nothing. Wow, how they stay in business with such bad food and service?
I rarely leave reviews but after reading the negative ones posted we had to leave a positive one for this place to help their image. We had fabulous service and food! Their crab cakes were awesome and the crab dip and lobster bruchetta are must-trys. Our son is of course a chicken tender expert and he loved his kids meal! If we come back to Bethany we'll definitely be eating here again. Don't let the negative feedback deter you...check it out for yourself.
Wish we had seen the reviews on this place before we stopped there. We waited over 45 minutes for food. My girlfriend ordered the french dip sandwich, and it had no seasoning or real flavor. It tasted like fat and sadness. The au jus looked like they skimmed some grease off of a pot of boiled meat. The worst part is that the waiter RECOMMENDED IT. He was either blowing smoke up our collective posteriors or recovering from some brain trauma that has him tasting colors or something. The kids meals were sad as well. My crab cake sandwich, although not as bad as the fat dip sandwich, was forgettable. The only good thing were the Chincoteague oysters but as long as they are fresh, it's hard to mess them up. We would have been happier going across the street to Arbys. Don't waster your time.
Why is this place still in business? The service and food was miserable!!! When we where there a former employee was there arguing with a manager to get her pay check from months ago. An armed liqueur board agent was demanding that the owner appear and speak with him.
What a zoo!
