BETHANYRESTAURANTS.COM REVIEW
We would call this an American/Seafood restaurant. It has a lower bar and tabled eating area and an upstairs finer dining area, though the menus overlap. When the "new" Magnolia's reopened a few years ago we tried it several times with great expectations, but were often disappointed with the quality of the food and service. However, based on our last few visits, both have improved. We hope the trend continues. In Ocean View on Cedar Neck Rd, near the G&E.

Magnificent food and friendly staff. My husband is ridiculously picky about filet and he was very pleased with theirs. Cooked perfectly and cut like butter. I think The name of the dish I had was shrimp la bella and that was delicious as well. And it's kid friendly!

We had been here several times in the past with decent meals always. Came this past Tuesday, luckily the upstairs was open, very cozy and a lot quieter. Our waiter recommended the stuffed flounder, which I ordered. My partner chose the BBQ ribs, which were out of this world. I told the waiter that these were without a doubt better than any I have had locally anywhere! For app. we had the clams casino and oysters rockefeller.. the waitress said they were make from scratch and i beleived it.. they were amazing! We shared a dessert of coconut cream pie, which is also made in house apparently. To die for!! Not perfect though. The vegetable offering was just ok, the green beans not cooked enough, barely room temperature. My partner was smart and got the cole slaw which he said was very good. We were lucky I think that we had an older server who was not a flighty as some of the younger servers we've had around town (and magnolias). She was well spoken and seemed to know the menu quite well. I recommend this for intimate dinner out of for the entire family, esp. with young ones, downstairs is perfect!

I would have to say this is one of my fav. restaurants in the Bethany area. Staff is always on the ball. Ate there tonight and must say Todor the manager really knows how to run an operation. The cream of crab is the best!! Also really enjoy the martinis here,mm the choc. martini is the best. Would highly reccomend Magnoias.

The only thing that saves this place from getting a "horrible" rating from me is their martinis. They make some good drinks, but unfortunately everything else is horrible. The staff is rude and the food is the worst. They could stand to clean the place, also.

I have to say that my last experience at Magnolia's, a week or so ago, may be my last experience at Magnolia's. While the food was good, their service was absolutely awful. We had to leave our table several times to try to find our waitress. Worse, yet, management was sitting in a booth right next to us trying to sell their facilities for a wedding and saw the terrible service we were experiencing and only after we left our table for the third time did they try to help with the service. Who needs this aggrevation when you are spending your hard earned, and these days harder to come by, cash?

Everytime I have been in the place the food has been just average, many times just pland. Was going there because it is close to my place. I really wish that they can get it together.
